The Witcher Drops Gorgeous New Artwork of Geralt – CBR – Comic Book Resources

The Witcher 3 wishes its fans a happy Halloween with gorgeous artwork of Geralt of Rivia crashing a masquerade ball where all is not as it seems.
The Witcher 3 released stunning artwork of an inhuman cotillion celebrating every monster's favorite holiday, Halloween.
The official Witcher game series Twitter account posted a beautiful work of art on Oct. 31, 2022, encouraging its fans to have a happy Halloween. The piece depicts a candelabra and jack-o-lantern-lit masquerade ball, with Geralt of Rivia himself making an entrance, silver blade drawn. A woman in the foreground of the artwork bears her fangs, having just taken notice of the eponymous Witcher's arrival. The post's caption reads: "Happy Halloween to all the humans, non-humans, monsters and everyone in-between!"

The replies to the post are primarily made up of fans clamoring for information about the release of the next-gen update of The Witcher series. While CD Project Red focused on Cyberpunk 2077, the task of porting The Witcher to PS5 and Xbox Series X and providing updates for the PC version fell to Saber Interactive. Saber was responsible for The Witcher 3's Nintendo Switch version, and they've previously promised a release for the fourth quarter of 2022 after a series of delays. As the year comes to a close, many players have expressed anxiety over when the next-gen versions will finally launch.
Another common topic on the post was the recent decision to recast Geralt of Rivia in the Witcher Netflix series. On Oct. 29, 2022, Henry Cavill announced on Instagram that he wouldn't be returning for the show's fourth season and that Liam Hemsworth would instead play the role of Geralt. Speculation has run rampant since the announcement, but there is very little definitive information as of this article. Fan theories have ranged from Cavill's decision to reprise Superman in the DCEU being too large of a commitment to allow for both properties to friction between him and the producers of the show regarding the adaptation's faithfulness to the source material.

The Witcher was originally a fantasy series written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski consisting of six novels and fifteen short stories. The first game released in 2007, with the sequel The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings following four years later. The most recent game in the series, The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, earned over 600% more in profits than the second game, including over 1.5 million preorders.
The next-gen update for The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt still doesn't have a definitive release date as of this article.
