One YouTuber has managed to recreate the iconic shot from No Way Home in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remaster’s photo mode, featuring all three web-heads.
A Spider-Man fan has used Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered‘s photo mode to recreate a moment from Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s final battle. The moment from the 2021 movie showed the three variants of Spider-Man, played by Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland, as they land atop the Statue Of Liberty before facing several of Spider-Man’s greatest foes from across the multiverse.
Insomniac has made great efforts to provide players of Marvel’s Spider-Man with many of the character’s costumes spanning his 60 years of comics, television, and movies. Tom Holland’s suits from Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avengers: Infinity War were in the game upon its release, with Spider-Man: Far From Home‘s black and red Upgraded suit and black Stealth suit being added at a later date. Upon the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Insomniac added the Black & Gold suit and the Hybrid suit, which saw the Upgraded suit embedded with a gold spider emblem made of nanotechnology exclusively to the PS5 version. Tobey Maguire’s costume – dubbed the Webbed suit due to its raised webbing – was added to the game for free around Christmas 2018, and with Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered‘s release, Insomniac revealed Andrew Garfield’s costume from 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man would be available, using it prominently in promotional material to showcase the ray-tracing enhancements on the PS5 and how light interacted with the different materials and textures on the suit.
As suits for all three of the cinematic live-action Spider-Men were included in the game, YouTuber ItIsSpid set out to recreate one of the iconic images from Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s finale where all three Spider-Man unite atop the Statue Of Liberty. To do this, ItIsSpid used Low Gravity to get Spider-Man near the Statue Of Liberty, a location that is not accessible in Marvel’s Spider-Man and is, therefore, a lower-poly model, much like the game’s infamous boat people. After acquiring a shot of the showdown’s location, ItIsSpid set out to capture the poses for each of the Spider-Men by getting them to interact with various areas of the game’s open world, before using Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered‘s improved photo mode’s lighting features to match the lighting of the film before compositing the assets together.
ItIsSpid has built an impressive following due to Spider-Man-themed content that utilizes Insomniac’s successful game series. One of these videos includes a rampage using one of Spider-Man’s symbiote suits, the version worn by Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 3. Symbiote suits were held back by Insomniac due to Venom’s confirmed arrival in the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but have been added via mods by the game’s community.
ItIsSpid’s recreation has gone down well with their audience of fellow Spider-Man fans, but whilst Tom Holland’s Hybrid suit and Tobey Maguire’s Webbed suits match their characters’ appearances in No Way Home’s final battle, the biggest difference is with Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man, who wore a version of The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘s costume. Despite fans requesting the popular second iteration of his costume the only version of Garfield’s portrayal to appear in the game is from the first Amazing Spider-Man movie. If Insomniac looks to add this to the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, it’s somewhat inevitable that fans such as ItIsSpid will use it to recreate further moments from Spider-Man: No Way Home.
