‘Valkyrie Elysium’ will be released later this year.
It’s been a while since we had a new game in the Valkyrie series, and Valkyrie Elysium looks to take the series in a more action-oriented direction courtesy of Soleil.
With the first Valkyrie Profile game released back in 1999 for the original PlayStation, that was and is a beloved role-playing game developed by tri-Ace.
This new game, Valkyrie Elysium, will instead be more of an action type game and be developed by Soleil. The important thing here is triAce’s Masaki Norimoto explained via Twitter that Valkyrie Elysium is meant as a spin-off and not a mainline release in the Valkyrie series.
Soleil is not bad when it comes to action games, and the new trailer for Valkyrie Elysium (shown below) does appear somewhat promising, especially with a narrator that sounds a lot like Brian Cox.
However, what is more interesting is the fact that Yuya Nagai of Nier: Automata fame will be handling the character designs and Motoi Sakuraba will be composing the game’s music.
That makes Valkyrie Elysium potentially a game to keep an eye on, when it’s released on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 and PC later this year.
