Does NBA 2K22 have an early or late shooting glitch? It is a topic of discussion on Twitter amongst the NBA 2K community, so it’s worth looking into in the event it needs to be tweaked at some point in the future.
The gameplay has been widely praised overall, but there are some players who have taken to social media to imply there is a shooting glitch impacted early and late releases.
I’ve tried to find it in my own hands-on experience, but I haven’t stumbled across any shooting abnormalities. It appears other hardcore users and influencers like Power aren’t seeing it in their games.
Whenever these kinds of issues arise, I try to take the question directly to 2K and to members of the community who may have a closer eye on the details. It’s always better if you can collect the opinions of people who may be able to speak to some specifics.
According to one 2K developer I spoke with, the dev team has no knowledge of a shooting glitch. They encouraged me to keep an eye out and to communicate any issues that arise.
In speaking with one popular 2K YouTuber with over 750K subscribers, they too hadn’t seen a glitch on current or next-gen systems. However, they did fall short of guaranteeing the glitch was a figment of other gamers’ imagination or a product of griefing after a poor shooting performance.
2K just released a patch that didn’t touch the gameplay, thanks to pleas from the community to leave the current experience in place. This is proof 2K’s development team has its ear to the virtual streets.
They are listening and instead, the latest patch was implemented to improve stability across the board. As of now, gameplay is in a great spot, but there are content drops planned. Some of them will add dribble animations and other gameplay-centric enhancements.
The hope is that those things add to the experience rather than undoing the positivity that came with the retail release.
In the meantime, I will continue to monitor the shooting glitch to see if the claims are validated, or if they go away as players get more acquainted with this version of the game.
