Wondering how to get into the secret developer room in Fallout 4? Here’s what you need to know.
Bethesda’s second outing as the developers of this acclaimed RPG franchise is full of items, locations, and secrets to discover throughout its sprawling map. Indeed, in Fallout 4, this search for new weapons, armor, and crafting materials can often be part of the fun.
However, sometimes, as you journey across the Commonwealth, you want to get an item quickly. Luckily for players who are looking for this option, the developers equipped the PC version of the game with a secret developer room that contains every item to be found throughout the entire game.
For PC players, it is a relatively simple endeavor to access the secret developer room. Simply press your ~ (tilde) key to access your console commands. Once the game’s console commands have been brought up, type “COC QASMOKE”. Following this, you will be transported to what looks like a rundown old town square and have instant access to every item in Fallout 4.
The developer room has every single item available in Fallout 4. The area features a number of chests containing different types of items, from consumables to scrap and all the game’s holotapes.
On top of every building material and item, you will also be able to access every weapon and piece of armor, even special and quest-specific ones. The room even features a series of power armor stands, so you can see what your new outfit will look like before taking it back to the commonwealth.
Once you have filled your inventory with rare and powerful items, there will come a time when you want to leave the developer room. Leaving is essentially the same as entering, press your tilde key, and this time type “COC SANCTUARYEXT” and you will be transported back to the main map, and specifically to Sanctuary.
Unfortunately, there is no built-in way to access a developer room in the console version of Fallout 4, this is primarily down to the lack of console commands in this version of the game. However, since Bethesda added the functionality to download mods on console, a number of different, fan-made, “developer” rooms have become available. Simply access the Mods section and search for it there.
