Apply god mode, instantly kill enemies, fill your inventory and change your sex in an instant with these cheats.
Fallout 4 is a great game with plenty to offer, but sometimes you want to go a little bit further and mess around with it way more than Bethesda would ever want you to. With the power of the tilde key (~) on PC you will activate the in-game console. And from there, a whole world of cheat commands will alter your game – sometimes for good, sometimes for bad.
To activate the in-game console, press the tilde key on the keyboard, just beside the “1” key in the top left corner. Some keyboards may require the apostrophe key instead, if the tilde doesn’t work.
Tapping tilde will bring up a dark grey console on the lower half of your screen where you can input various commands. These commands will manipulate the game such as kill enemies, add items to your inventory, apply god mode, change sex and more.
WARNING: Some of these commands could be game-breaking, so use with caution and make sure you create save files to revert back to.
Enter the command below for the following cheat. Note: you don’t need to type the brackets when entering a number/ID.
tgm – God mode will make you completely invulnerable.
tcl – No collision with objects will allow you to walk through walls and go anywhere.
tai – This turns off the AI. All characters will become immobile, and stand with blank expressions.
tcai – Turns off combat AI. Now you don’t have to fight anyone/thing.
killall – Kills off everyone in the surrounding area, except for Companions and other important characters, who will need a Stimpak.
kill [insert ID] – Kills the creature of the ID indicated. Very useful if you’re struggling with a Deathclaw or other giant beast.
resurrect [insert ID] – Resurrects the creature indicated.
setgs fJumpHeightMin [insert number] – Modify your jump height based on the inserted number. Higher numbers result in higher jumps but you will still take fall damage. Either make sure you’re wearing Power Armor or enable god mode.
player.setav speedmult [insert number] – Speed up your running, based on the inserted number.
tfc – Activates the flycam.
tm – Toggles the UI and HUD off and on. However, this command will also prevent you from seeing the command console. Press the tilde and type “tm” again blindly to retrieve the UI. This is great for taking screenshots.
setscale [insert number from 1 to 10] – Increases the size of your target, or yourself, based on the indicated number.
sexchange – Change the sex of your character.
player.additem [insert item ID] [insert number] – This is the command formula to add items to your inventory based on the quantity indicated. This will work for any item, as long as you know the item ID. For exmaple:
coc qasmoke – This will transport you to room full of boxes with all items from the game. There’s also Power Armor and workbenches here. What you can do here is click on an item with the console open and it will give you its ID. With that ID you can use it for other console commands, such as the one above. Note: you can’t actually teleport back out of this room, so make sure you save before using it. Here’s a video of the room, via Furious FX.
set timescale to [insert number] – Speed up or slow down time. The game defaults to 16, with real-time being 1. Negative numbers slow down time.
tdetect – AI will no longer detect you. great for pickpocketing items.
player.modav [skill] [number] – This increases your skill by the indicated number. You can boost all your SPECIAL skills to 10 with this.
player.setlevel [insert number] – Level-up to the number indicated.
caqs – This command completes the main story quest line. Don’t use it unless you want to spoil the whole game. Good if you’ve already completed the quest and want to try a new character.
